A great read for any bass player, musician, and/or music fan. I read this book a few years ago and could not put it down. For those of you that know Jaco's genius, when you start reading it you wonder why the author is building him up so much, when we know what an amazing talent he was, but as the book goes on you understand why. As high as he makes the hill, the fall is just as long and sad. It needs to be made into a motion picture. Almost is a bass player's version of "Amadeus" in a way, with Jaco being the Mozart character.
The Book Description at Amazon is very good: "This tragic tale of the man who revolutionized the electric bass will appeal to players, fans, and anyone curious about the fine line between creative genius and madness..."
