'Junkyard Waltz' review - The Charleston (WV) Gazette (by Michael Lipton)
"...For the most part, the songs take a backseat to the groove, and all other instruments defer to the bassus maximus, which, in this case, is clearly what God intended. In fact, the title track features nothing but basses (Freekbass and Gordon), drums and vocals. Normally that might be a recipe for disaster, but I dare say you won't notice the absence of a 6-string or keys one bit..."

Mike Gordon and Freekbass - Jambands.com
Mike Gordon is among the guest musicians scheduled to appear on Freekbass' forthcoming release Junkyard Waltz. The guest-heavy set is due in-stores on October 28, also featuring appearances by Bernie Worrell, Jen Durkin, Buckethead and executive producer Bootsy Collins. On September 5, Gordon may very will revisit his studio collaboration with Freekbass when the group opens for him at Cleveland, OH's Beechland Ballroom. Freekbass has a longstanding relationship with Collins dating back to the mid-1990s and joined the funky bassist as his James Brown tribute shortly after the Godfather of Soul's passing. Gordon's next show will take place at Boulder's Fox Theatre tonight, while Freekbass will appear at Legend Valley, OH's Hookahville this evening.

New Freekbass Tour Dates
New Freekbass tour dates have been added including a date on Friday, September 5 opening for Mike Gordon in Cleveland, OH at The Beachland Ballroom.
